Whippoorwill • 7:30 - 9:00 pm

Crowd favorite, Whippoorwill, returns to the Evanston to entertain us at the House Concert with their unique brand of original music, humor and storytelling.  Cathartic, experiential alt-folk written by boots-in-the-dirt, partner-in-crime country girls and delivered across drummer Tobias Bank's vast percussive landscape.

Saturday, June 23 • Outdoors on the Lawn

The Barton Hills Choir • noon - 1pm
w/ Special Guest David Gans

The Barton Hills Choir is a comprised of 25 6th Graders from Barton Hills Elementary School in Austin Texas led by music teacher and choir director Gavin Tabone and accompanied by professional musicians. They will also be joined on stage by veteran performer, David Gans. Their repertoire spans golden oldies from the Beatles, Elvis, David Bowie, Grateful Dead and the Beach Boys, numbers from Broadway musicals as well as songs from current bands like Wilco and the Foo Fighters.  They have performed several times at the Austin City Limits Music Festival

The Good Time Travelers • 1:15 - 2:45

The Good Time Travelers are a multi-instrumental acoustic duo with vocal harmonies and a stage presence so big that they have been described as a “2-piece power-trio". Pete Kartsounes and Michael Kirkpatrick have a sound that is rooted in bluegrass and folk music, but the sentiment is pure rock and roll. The Good Time Travelers have opened for Bluegrass greats such as Sam Bush, Leftover Salmon, and Del McCoury & David Grisman.

Laney Lou & The Bird Dogs • 3:00 - 4:30

Since 2013, Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs have been forging a fresh and energetic sound in the northwest music scene. Their live show is highlighted by unbridled energy and punctuated by songs performed with fervor and rock 'n' roll swagger. The Bird Dogs push the envelope of what a traditional string band is described as fusing folk songs with country, pop, and rock.

Wild Mountain • 4:45 - 6:15

Wild Mountain is a six-piece Americana folk rock band out of Colorado, mixing Celtic-Irish melodies and rhythms with American heartland Bluegrass music.  The band had its beginnings in January 2016 when after eighteen years Celtic rock band The Indulgers came to an end and multi–instrumentalist/composer Mike Nile and violinist Renee Fine found themselves looking to start a new band combining the Irish/Celtic music they had been playing with Americana/Bluegrass music.

Nu Blu • 6:30 - 8:00

Nu-Blu’s heart and soul is husband-and-wife duo Daniel and Carolyn Routh. Carolyn’s caramel-coated soprano is one of the band’s defining traits, at times a tender lullaby, at times a freight train headed straight for you, but always unwinding a surprising tale. Daniel is the group’s backbone, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who also handles band management. Performing with TJ Honaker and Clint White, they deliver upbeat, blazing-fingers pick work just as well as gentle, heartwarming ballads. Nu-Blu has been bringing their unique sound to audiences around the world.

Bluegrass HEADLINER

The Barefoot Movement • 8:15 - 10:00

Heartfelt, energetic, and down home. Heralded by CMT Edge as "one of the most promising bands on the bluegrass scene," the music of this Nashville based group is as down to earth as their intention for members of their audience: sit back, relax, take your shoes off, and stay a while. All the worries and frustrations of the world melt away as this charming, acoustic band takes listeners back to a simpler place and time. Whether you're seeking emotional ballads or rip-roaring barn-burners, you can expect a collection of music that offers something for everyone.
